Adults with physical disabilities
Many of us will require some level of assistance as we grow older, be that as a result of ageing, accident or perhaps a condition we’ve lived with our whole lives.
As day-to-day activities around the home become that little more difficult to do alone, and reduced mobility is more and more of an issue, our care assistants are on-hand to help with household tasks, outings, social visits and even personal care.
Bespoke disability care
Given the individual nature of the disabilities, issues and complexities each of our client’s faces, it’s vital that we deliver support and assistance that’s bespoke to each. All care programmes begin with a comprehensive assessment of a client’s situation and requirements, while we simultaneously consider which of our care assistants is best suited to providing care given their skill-sets, training and even personality.
On-hand to help
To help make life as active and independent as possible, our care assistants are available to help with daily tasks around the house including personal hygiene, dressing, housework, laundry and preparing meals. Our care assistants also assist a number of our clients to work full or part-time if they’re still employed. We can support you to continue with, or become involved in, voluntary work, formal employment, educational courses and other leisure or social activities, as well as with trips to visit family and friends and places like the bank, doctor’s surgery or shops.
Learning Disabilities
We all value our independence but sometimes a short or long-term mental health condition can make it more challenging to live independently. In these circumstances, Sagecare’s support can make a real difference to a person’s life and well-being.
Together, we will look at ways we can support you, or perhaps a family member, then help you make the best choices possible to give you control over your life and your mental health. If your needs change, we’ll adapt our home support to meet your new circumstances.
Our care assistants can assist with tasks that you might be finding difficult or challenging, such as personal care, cleaning, cooking. We can also support you take part in activities that will benefit your general well-being, such as meeting family and friends, sports or leisure, working full or part-time, volunteering, or continuing your education.
We can also provide more complex care support, including managing medication and rehabilitative support at home after a hospital stay or a period of poor health. For your own safety reassurance, and that of your family and other people close to you, our carers are trained and experienced in managing challenging behaviour.
Respite services
If you’re a care giver upon whom someone else relies to take care of them, it may not always be easy to find time for yourself. Often, it’s difficult to get away to attend to your own life admin or perhaps take some time off for a holiday.
We provide flexible respite care services that enable regular carers to take the breaks they need, confident that their loved one or client will receive professional support from our teams while they’re away. When you do need a break – whether it’s for a few hours or a fortnight – you want absolute confidence that you can arrange the same high-quality care for the person you look after as you would give them yourself.
That’s where Sagecare can help. We understand that to care for someone effectively, you need time and space sometimes, whether it’s to deal with personal business or to take a holiday to recharge your batteries.
Whether you’re caring for a child or adult with a physical or learning disability or mental health problems, an elderly person who has long-term health problems, or someone feeling a little frail after just leaving hospital, we’ll provide an affordable respite service delivered by friendly, fully-trained, security-checked care assistants.
We’ll tailor our flexible support to your requirements and the needs and wishes of the person you care for, providing services ranging from morning and bedtime support, personal care and assistance with medication to help with preparing meals or light housework.
